Charming early 19th century French hand-colored lithograph depicting two dog breeds identified beneath the image as Chien-loup (Wolf Dog) and Le Chien de Sibérie (Siberian Dog). Numbered Plate 39, the work is credited to Meunier as the artist and C. Motte as the lithographer. The beautifully detailed dogs and original coloring make this a wonderful example of early French natural history illustration.
The antique lithograph shows lovely age and patina, including some light toning and foxing consistent with its age. Recently custom framed in a new gilt wood frame with new matting and museum glass. Ready to hang and especially beautiful displayed alone or as part of a collection. Framed dimensions: 11 1/2” H x 8 1/2” W.
